Dose #1: Liking Yourself
Spend a few minutes making a list of things you like about yourself. A real, written list, not just thoughts in your head, but something you can look at and review. Are you kind to others? Creative? Eager for life? Loyal? Generous? Courageous? Is there anything you wish was on your list that isn't?
If the answer is yes, what steps can you take this week to begin being that, or acquiring that characteristic? What would you do more of? Less of?
Self-acceptance solves many of the things we struggle with every day - what we think people think of us, how we compare to others, the painful feared truths of who we are or might be - the imagined mysterious negative we carry, fearing its discovery.
Maybe it's not about being a new person at all, but accepting the person you already are - as you are. Is that what's needed? Will you consciously practice self-acceptance every day this week? Replace it - practice it - at times of self-doubt.
"Once we believe in ourselves, we can risk curiosity, wonder, spontaneous delight, or any experience that reveals the human spirit." ~E.E. Cummings
Have a wonderful week!
